We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Holleboom family yesterday at our house. It was our first time hosting. It was fun to see everyone and spend some time catching up. Rebecca enjoyed playing with 2 of her cousins and spending time with aunts, uncles and grandparents. Mary made her first turkey (a 20 pounder!). It turned out really well. The rest of the feast included mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing (or dressing since it wasn't cooked in the bird), squash, green bean casserole, applesauce, pink salad, rolls, corn souffle and cranberries. Grandma Holleboom brought pumpkin pie, apple pie, cheesecake and brownies for dessert! Something for everyone.Rebecca did well with all the commotion and unfamiliar faces. She even sat with Uncle Dan for a while. Not sure he resisted playing with her pigtails, though ;)
We are thankful for such a wonderful family and for a day we could spend focusing on the blessings God has given us. We should celebrate each day as a gift from God.
Now it's time to get ready for Christmas :)
