Sippy Cup

Rebecca had her first attempt at the sippy cup on Sunday. We are working on getting her more comfortable with Justin feeding her once in a while so Mary can leave the house :) And so that at some point we can leave her with a baby-sitter (i.e. Grandpa and Grandma :). Rebecca didn't really care for the cup yet. Maybe she's not quite ready for that. But at least it made her frustrated enough that she didn't mind the bottle so much. She ate a couple ounces out of the bottle for Justin. It's a start. We'll keep working at it.

At least she looks like she knows what she's supposed to do with it... suck on it. And she's trying to hold it! :) Carson would just bite the sippies for the first few weeks. I took the regulators out and let it free-flow so he'd know there was something in there to get out, but he'd only suck on it for a second, then back to chewing. He doesn't really like the whole tipping your head back with the sippies. He'll drink from them now finally, but still would much prefer his straw cups. And even that took trying out different cups every night for about five or six weeks! Good luck! I hope she takes to it more quickly than Carson... I think she probably will just by seeing these pics of the first attempt.

We'll see. It's hard to find anything to replace mommy :p I think she did get some milk out, so she knew what it was. But she just wasn't sure about the method. We'll keep trying.
