Meet The Mulders

On Saturday we went to Livonia to attend the wedding of one of Justin's cousins - Wes Mulder.  This was the first time Mary had met most of the Mulder family (aunt, uncle and 11 kids).  And the first time any of them had met Rebecca and Abram.  It was a rare opportunity since many of them live in Iowa and the others are scattered all over.  We were only able to make it to the reception, but it was still fun.  It was a pretty long trip with one child potty training and the other nursing often...many stops.  But we managed it in one day.

Rebecca had so much fun...she LOVES anything related to brides and weddings.  She was so excited to get to talk to a real bride.  Rebecca also attempted to catch the bouquet.  Even though she didn't get it, Julia (the bride) was nice enough to take a rose out of her bouquet for Rebecca.  Rebecca's response: "Thank you bride." :)

We enjoyed catching up with/getting to know the Mulders, eating a tasty lunch and even taking some silly pictures (they had a photo booth).  Maybe we'll see them again in another 10 years :P  Congrats to Wes and Julia!

Abram is 2 Weeks Old

Abram had his 2 week check up yesterday.  Hard to believe he's 2 weeks old already!  He sure is growing.  He now weighs 9lbs. 2oz. (75%) and is 21 3/4in. (75-90%) long.  His head is 14 1/2in. (50%).  Needless to say he's a very good eater, gaining almost a pound already since birth.  Abram is meeting all of his milestones.

We're pretty sure he has some reflux...which is causing sleeping problems mostly at night.  He mostly sleeps in his bouncy seat to stay somewhat upright.  Hopefully he'll outgrow it soon...and start sleeping better :)

Thankfully so far he has not caught Rebecca's cold.  Hopefully she's on the upswing and we all stay healthy.

We're all continuing to adjust to life with a new baby.  And trying to enjoy every stage.  We thank God for a healthy, happy baby boy.

Rebecca is her usual silly, playful self.  Yesterday we did one of her favorite things...play with water.  She makes a huge mess, but has a blast :)

Here is a photo of Rebecca in her monkey outfit at 4 days old.  Notice the folded sleeves and how huge it is.  I think she wore this for several months.  Even the paci looks big.

Abram in the same outfit at 9 days old.  We won't be able to snap it much longer :P  He's almost outgrown it already.

Abram's First Week and Visitors

We're happy to all be home and getting settled.  Abram is adjusting to his energetic sister and had his first bath.  We've spent time outside and taken a family walk.  We also enjoyed having all of Mary's family visit last night.  Here are a few pics.  Be sure to check out the photo albums for more.

Welcome Baby Abram!!

On Monday, May 9 at 7:51 am we welcomed Abram Judah Voogt into our family.  We are in love with this beautiful, healthy baby boy.  He weighs 8 lbs. 3 oz. and is 21.5 inches long.  Everything went smoothly with the delivery.  Abram has passed all of his tests, and Mary is recovering well.  Rebecca is so excited to have a baby brother.  She rubs his hair and kisses him every time she visits.  She has also been enjoying lots of time with her grandparents.  We're looking forward to having the whole family home tomorrow.  What a blessing to add this little boy to our family.  We thank God for his goodness.

Happy Mother's Day...And It's Baby Day!

We had a relaxing Mother's Day yesterday.  We all stayed home and spent lots of time together.  We went on a couple walks and enjoyed the sunshine.  I got some chocolates from Rebecca (seems to be her favorite gift to give lately...because she knows Mommy and Daddy will share with her :) and some kitchen towels and a splatter guard from Justin.  My parents came in the afternoon.  We enjoyed having dinner with them and visiting for a while.  A wonderful way to spend our last day as a family of 3.  I am a very blessed Mommy.

Today is the day for Baby #2!!!  We leave for the hospital in about an hour.  Only a few hours until baby arrives.  We are so excited and feel so blessed.  We trust that God will watch over this baby, the delivery and Rebecca while she's home with Grandpa and Grandma.  We can't wait for her to meet her new brother or sister!

Defnitely more belly this time.  The big difference...Rebecca was breach the whole time.  This baby...definitely NOT :P  It is head down and very low.
