5th Anniversary!

Justin and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary yesterday. We went to a Whitecaps baseball game since we both love sporting events! Rebecca came with us, and we all had a great time. In some ways it's hard to believe it's been 5 years since we got married, but in other ways it feels like we've been together for so much longer. We feel so blessed to be married to each other and to have our beautiful daughter. And we pray that God will give us many more happy years together.

Grandpa and Grandma Voogt will be visiting this Saturday. Rebecca has grown a lot since they saw her last. We'll be visiting them in WI Labor Day weekend. Rebecca (and mommy and daddy) will get her first ferry ride :) Hopefully she likes boats.

First Vacation - Big Star Lake

This past weekend Rebecca took her first vacation. We went to the Van Heukelum trailer on Big Star Lake. We went Friday morning and came back Sunday afternoon. Rebecca enjoyed some new scenery. She wasn't too excited about the water...a bit too chilly for her. We went on lots of walks, went out for ice cream a couple times and attended the service at the Big Star Lake Chapel. It was nice to get away and spend time as a family. Our next trip will probably be in August when we go to Flint for cousin Carson's baptism.

3 months old!!!

Rebecca is 3 months old today!!! Hard to believe. She is so much fun and seems to learn new stuff each day. She is starting to enjoy tummy time more and seems anxious to crawl already! She can't quite get her legs under her, but she can move her body along the ground. Rebecca is starting to immitate the faces we make. It's pretty funny. She is really getting the hang of the bumbo seat too. Her head control has improved so much in the past week. Rebecca weighs around 13 lbs. and is about 23 in. long. Next month she'll get an official measurement at the doctor's office.

Tomorrow we'll be taking Rebecca on her first vacation. We're going to the Van Heukelum trailer in Baldwin, MI on Big Star Lake. Hopefully Rebecca will enjoy the water and being away from home for a few days. Mommy and Daddy are looking forward to a relaxing weekend away.

4th of July

Rebecca celebrated her first 4th of July! She got dressed in her red, white and blue and we headed to the Grandville parade in the morning. Rebecca wasn't quite sure what to think of it. Some of it was interesting. Some of it was just too loud! And then it must have gotten boring since she fell asleep :) In the evening Mom and Dad watched the fireworks from the porch as usual. Thankfully Rebecca stayed alseep through them! This 4th of July was very special for Mom and Dad...such a change from last year. We got to celebrate with our beautiful daughter instead of looking longingly at the other pregnant women and young kids. God is good!

Rebecca has been sleeping better the past couple nights. Only up for one really quick feeding in the night. Mommy and Daddy (especially Mommy:) are hoping this trend continues!

Monday Rebecca gets to attend her 2nd soccer game since Mommy has another early game. Maybe this time she'll get to see some of it and not just sleep.

Rebecca is just over 11 weeks old now. Time sure is flying by. But we're having fun and loving every minute of it!
